Madrid is a city known worldwide for its night-life and bar scene. At the same time, the city is also known for its baroque and neoclassical architecture. These architectural styles make the views of the city landscape of Madrid breathtaking. To enjoy the beautiful urban landscape of Madrid, it is a must to stop by Madrid’s rooftops for a drink, bite to eat, or just to stop and admire the view. Today I will take you on a tour of 3 of the best and most unique Madrid rooftops that will give you a sneak peek of Madrid’s best rooftop bar scene.

Círculo de Bellas Artes

Located just blocks away from the city’s famous Fuente de Cibeles and Banco de España, this theater and performing arts center offers one of the best views in Madrid. After enjoying a performance at the theater, pay the 5-euro entrance fee for the Azotea del Círculo rooftop. In addition to offering a panoramic view of Madrid’s city center, the space is home to a great rooftop bar scene.

Ultimately, the view from Azotea del Circulo is worth it within itself. After accessing the rooftop, be sure to take as many photos as you choose capturing the different angles and views of Madrid’s buildings and landmarks. The drinks are on the more expensive side, but the bar nonetheless offers some tasty and creative cocktails that can be enjoyed while you take in this breathtaking view of the city.

Sky Bar- Hotel Riu Plaza España

Plaza de España, one of the most important intersections within the city located on the city’s main thoroughfare Gran Vía, is home to another rooftop gem. Atop the 2-year-old Hotel Riu Plaza España, on the 27th floor, hosts the Sky Bar, offering tourists and locals a 360º view of Madrid from the rooftop.

Enjoy a glass of Spanish white wine and a plate of light snacks or appetizers while taking in the magnificent view of Plaza de España, Plaza Mayor, Casa de Campo, and the wide-open boulevard of the Gran Vía. Many guests who frequent the bar rave about their cocktails such as the Cosmopolitan. Similar to Azotea de Círculo, the Sky Bar offers a 5-euro cover charge on weekdays and 10 euros on weekends to non-hotel guests. The cover charge is well worth it as the Sky Bar offers one of the most exhilarating experiences, a glass walkway 4.5 meters long and suspended in the air at 100 meters. The walkway connects two of the rear towers of the building offering a glass bottom view of the city below feeling as if you are flying through the Madrid sky!

For these reasons, this rooftop bar with a view has quickly become one of the most sought-after places in the city to visit so try to book in advance if possible during weekends and holidays to avoid the long entry line for this spectacular panoramic view of the entire Madrid Community.
