How to get my transport card?

Something else you will need during your first days in Spain is a transport card. Normally metro and bus tickets cost between 1.50€ and 2.50€. You will need between 2 and 4 a day, so you can spend up to 8€ in a day on transport.

The Community of Madrid transport card costs 20€ per month for those under 26 and 54.60€ for those over 26, so you will undoubtedly save a lot on transport. This card contains unlimited travel, so it is more economic.

With this card, you can use the metro, commuter train, and buses with total freedom to move around the city of Madrid. This card is personalized and non-transferable and will bear your photo and full name. You have to pay 8€ to get it, and from the moment you receive it, you can recharge it and start using it. After 30 days, this card will expire and in order to continue using it, you can recharge it at any of the automatic machines in the metro stations.

You can use this card to go to any area of ​​Madrid, and you can also go to the airport and take buses to other cities in Castilla La Mancha such as Toledo or Guadalajara. You can also visit places like El Escorial, Aranjuez, or Alcalá de Henares.

Once you arrive in Spain, you can request the transport card through Guruit. The steps you must follow to obtain it are very simple: fill in the form and you will receive a registration confirmation in your email to be able to use your transport pass. When you arrive in Madrid, pick up your transport pass from our office.

The last thing you have to do when you pick it up is recharge at your nearest metro station and start using it.
