You will only be able to open your N26 bank account if you have already obtained your visa and/or your Spanish NIE NUMBER.

When obtaining the visa to travel to Spain, the visa itself contains the NIE number assigned to you by the consulate or embassy. Have a look at this example:

 

Once you have requested the opening of the bank account through Guruit, you will receive an email and you will have to follow the following steps:

 

STEP 1:

Access the following link and click on "Open Account":

STEP 2:

Fill out the form to complete all your personal data. It will only take up 8 minutes of your time. Here’s some help completing it in case you have any doubts:

When you get to this section, select "Spain" as a country and click on get started:

Fill in your personal information:

 

When you get to the phone number section, remember that you can provide the number from your country. It does not have to be a Spanish number. It is important that you include an active phone number as you will receive a verification code via that number:

When you get to the "Home Address" section, you must indicate the Guruit address: Estación de Chamartín, s/n, 28036 Madrid, Factoria Meeu (Guruit)*

*We will receive your bank card and once you arrive in Spain you must write to us at services@guruitapp.com to make an appointment where we will hand you your card. If you already have an address in Spain at the time of filing your request, you can directly enter your postal address and thus receive the bank card directly at your address.

 

Fill in the rest of your personal information:

Select "student" as your status

 

Select your source of income (we advise you to select "Family Income (e.g. Income from family members" but you can pick the one that suits you best)

 

 

Answer the questions in case you are somehow related to the U.S.

 

Finally, you must indicate your Spanish NIE NUMBER:

As we have already indicated at the beginning, you will only be able to open your N26 bank account if you have already obtained your visa and/or your Spanish NIE NUMBER.

 

STEP 3:

Once you have completed the previous steps, you will receive an email to validate your email address.

 

STEP 4:

Once you have validated your email address, you must download the N26 app and introduce the verification code that you will receive by SMS via the phone number that you provided when registering.

 

STEP V:

To finish the registration through the N26 app, you will have to attach a copy of your passport and take a picture of your face.

Within a few hours, N26 will validate all your information and your Spanish bank account will be available.

 

STEP 5:

If you introduced the address of Guruit (Estación de Chamartín, s/n, 28036 Madrid, Factoria Meeu (Guruit)) at the time of registration, do not forget to make an appointment with us when you arrive in Spain to pick up your bank card by sending us an email at services@guruitapp.com.

In any case, since N26 is a 100% digital bank, you will be able to use your account from the moment its opening is approved, and you will be able to use it and make your purchases directly from their app without having your physical bank card.
